The Story Behind a Name
A story very close to our hearts. Andy’s On Welcome was named after our oldest brother, Andrew Werner Wilke, who was affectionately known to us as Andy. Andy was an amazing son, brother and uncle. Andy loved life. He had a generous heart and found great joy in making other people happy. He was the kind of person who everyone wanted to be friends with.
Sadly, Andy passed away after a short illness, more than 20 years ago. But even in his passing, he continued to look after the people he loved. He had made provision for our family, leaving us cared for and provided for. That was Andy—always thinking of others. When we were looking for a name for our coffee shop, Andy’s felt like the perfect fit.
It signifies fun, children, laughing, good times together, happiness and a place for families and friends to spend quality time together. Every time someone walks through our doors, we hope they experience a little of that spirit and have a lovely time in our special spot.
